Boat trips have now commenced, with sightings of a wide variety of sea birds pairing up ready to mate. Quite a few otter sightings and of course the ever present common seals. Some Porpoise sighted in the last week of March. An unusual amount of snow fell over 2 or 3 days, some is still lying in the hills.  Managed to do the middle section of the

A group of 20 Puffins sighted already.. The Ravens produce chicks at this time of year. In fact we saw 3 sitting in the nest on 6th May, making quite a racket!!! The Grey Herons are sitting on their nests. The first lesser black backed gull has returned from winter in Africa!! We recognise this one by the ring on his leg.. Lots of Otter sightings so far this year. 16 Eider duck chicks seen on May 3rd !! seems very early...

We are also starting to see jellyfish appearing now, lion's manes, sea acorns and moon jellyfish.
