At Seaprobe Atlantis, we strongly believe in the protection of Scotlands wildlife and are constantly aware that we could be responsible for creating disturbance during our daily activities.
It is for this reason that we joined the Scottish Marine Wildlife Operators Association in 1999, this is an organization set up on the West Coast of Scotland who’s main concern has been the protection of our marine wildlife and the promotion of responsible wildlife watching….
The most important aspect of the SMWOA’s work has been the development of a marine wildlife watching code, which we at Seaprobe Atlantis have signed up to.
The recognition that Scotland’s wildlife is a resource that many businesses rely upon has led to the recent development of a new organization called WildScotland, who’s main aim is to promote a sustainable wildlife watching industry. The members of this association are both land and water based wildlife watching organizations, who share the common goal of preserving Scotlands wildlife, promoting Scotland as a wildlife watching destination and finding ways of reducing the impact we operators have on the environment and the animals we observe. We are enthusiastic believers in these goals and for that reason became members in 2004.
